Take a class with former Resident Artist, Siri Burt. This course is designed for students with at least one year of prior ceramics experience. Build on your foundational skills and refine your techniques for both functional pottery and sculptural work. Bring objects, ideas, or technical challenges, and learn to problem‑solve with clay at a more advanced level.
Students will also take part in loading their own work into the electric kilns as a group, gaining hands-on experience with the core principles of electric kiln operation. All kiln programming and firing will be managed by instructors or studio staff.
Included in the class: unlimited use of our studio clay (Standard 240G), access to all studio glazes, and shared studio tools.
Students pay $0.03 per cubic inch for each firing—bisque and glaze firings are charged separately for a total of $0.06 per cubic inch.
Please note that studio access outside of scheduled class time is not permitted. If you’d like additional time to work, we invite you to join our membership program, which offers 24/7 access. This policy supports our member‑run model and ensures that independent makers have dedicated space and time to create.

Teaching Artist Bio:
Siri received a Masters of Art in Contemporary Practice from the University of Edinburgh in 2024 and a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2019. Siri writes: “I’m researching the intersection of bodily transformation and when symbolism shifts to create something completely new. The history behind the mediums impacts our perception when reading into a piece of artwork. I use ceramics (ancient) and photography (contemporary) to question established symbols, the stories that cemented them, and whether the meanings can be changed. My photographs are of abstracted body parts—feeling almost like pieces of a body that need to be put back together—creating a mythology of my own using my interpretation of stories. The stories I tend to focus on involve the female body as an uncomfortable focus point. The use of relic aesthetics gives the viewer the perspective that the pieces are old, true and part of a larger story. I explore the theme of transformation in both the work itself and the process. Placing my ceramics into a bath of inkjet to transfer a photo onto, reminds me of skin being placed over a skeleton.”
